Jake Gyllenhaal Images

Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal born 19 December 1980 in Los Angeles, California is an American film actor and up-and-coming youth icon. Jake is the son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and producer/screenwriter Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal, and the brother of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, who also played his sister in Donnie Darko. The siblings also worked together in the film "A Dangerous Woman". His father is of partial Swedish heritage and his mother is Jewish of Ashkenazi heritage. His uncle is Eric Foner, a well known American historian at Columbia University. His father's family is descended from the Swedish noble Gyllenhaal family.

Jake Gyllenhaal made his film debut in City Slickers (1991) and began to establish himself as an up-and-coming actor in such films as October Sky (1999) before being cast in the title role in Donnie Darko (2001), for which he was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for best actor. Jake Gyllenhaal's performance as a troubled schizophrenic won him excellent reviews and the film quickly acquired cult status. He played opposite Jennifer Aniston in another Sundance favourite in 2002's The Good Girl and once again earned good reviews. Jake Gyllenhaal also starred in the Walt Disney romantic comedy, Bubble Boy. Loosely based on the story of David Vetter, the film portrays the title character's adventure outside the confines of his bubble as he goes after the woman he loves before she marries the wrong man.

Marking his theatre debut, Jake Gyllenhaal appeared on the London stage with a starring role in Kenneth Lonergan's revival of This Is Our Youth. The play, which was a critical sensation on Broadway, ran for eight weeks in London's West End. For his role, Jake Gyllenhaal received an Evening Standard Theatre Award in the category of "Outstanding Newcomer".

Brokeback Mountain (2005), which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, won the coveted Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival 2005. When asked of his thoughts on playing a character who falls in love with another man, Jake Gyllenhaal showed comfort with his own same-s-- attractions by openly stating every man goes through a period of questioning attractions for other men. However, he later told Details magazine, "I'm open to whatever people want to call me. I've never really been attracted to men s--ually, but I don't think I would be afraid of it if it happened."

Jake Gyllenhaal has an "on-again, off-again" relationship with actress Kirsten Dunst. The two lived together briefly, but continue to appear together in public. Jake Gyllenhaal is friends with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, and the two have known each other since kindergarten.

Jake Gyllenhaal has a German Shepherd named "Atticus" and a Puggle named "Boo Radley" after characters from the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.

Fans of Jake Gyllenhaal refer to themselves as "Gyllenhaalics".

Owen Wilson Wallpapers

Owen Cunningham Wilson born November 18, 1968 is an actor and Academy Award-nominated writer. Owen Wilson debuted as an actor in the role of "Dignan" in the Wes Anderson film Bottle Rocket, which he co-wrote with Anderson. He also worked with Anderson as a creative collaborator on his next two directorial efforts, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums, for which they were nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

Owen Wilson subsequently landed a role in The Cable Guy, directed by Ben Stiller, an early admirer of Bottle Rocket. After minor appearances in action films like Anaconda, Armageddon and The Haunting, Wilson appeared in two dramatic roles: supporting actor in Permanent Midnight, which starred Stiller as a drug-addicted TV writer; and the lead role as a serial killer in The Minus Man, in which future girlfriend, singer Sheryl Crow was a co-star. He also made a cameo in the Girl Skateboards video Yeah Right! in 2003.

Owen Wilson got his big break with the 2000 comedy action hit Shanghai Noon, starring opposite Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan. The film grossed nearly $100 million worldwide. His fame continued to rise after starring alongside Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell in the 2001 film Zoolander.

Gene Hackman took notice of Wilson's performance in Shanghai Noon and recommended Owen Wilson to co-star in the 2001 action film Behind Enemy Lines. Also in 2001, Wilson and Anderson collaborated on their third film, The Royal Tenenbaums, which was a financial and critical success. The comedy featured an all-star cast, including Gene Hackman, Ben Stiller, Bill Murray, Anjelica Huston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Danny Glover, Seymour Cassel and brother Luke. Owen Wilson had a memorable supporting role in the film as Eli Cash, a drug-addled bon vivant who becomes a literary celebrity. It earned the writing team an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

Owen Wilson returned to the buddy-comedy genre in 2002 with the action comedy I Spy, co-starring Eddie Murphy. This big-screen remake of the television series flopped at the box office. He then reunited with Chan to make Shanghai Knights (2003) and the movie remake of the television series Starsky & Hutch (2004). Due to his busy schedule as an actor and an ongoing sinus condition, Wilson was unavailable to collaborate on the script for Wes Anderson's fourth feature, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. The 2004 film was ultimately co-written by filmmaker Noah Baumbach. However, Wilson did star in the film as Bill Murray's would-be son, Ned Plimpton; a role written specifically for Wilson. In 2004 Wilson worked with his brother Luke Wilson in the 2004 film Around the World in 80 Days as the Wright brothers.
